What is Restorative Dental Care?
Any procedure done with the goal of improving both the function and appearance of your smile can be considered restorative dental care.
Once your oral health condition has been diagnosed, your dentist will recommend a treatment plan designed to meet your unique needs.
By repairing structural problems, like damaged or missing teeth, our dentists can help prevent further degradation of your oral health and restore your smile.
Dental Crowns
A crown is a porcelain cap that is placed on top of a tooth to restore its function and appearance. Crowns can be used to attach bridges, cover dental implants, or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They can also help to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Bridges can be barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth and the bite between upper and lower teeth.
Dental Fillings
At Cranbrook Family Dental, we use composite tooth-coloured fillings to repair cavities or tooth damage, such as a crack. These fillings can withstand pressure from chewing, and can be used on front and/or back teeth.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Our Cranbrook Family Dental team is proud to offer implant-supported dentures, that anchor directly to your jawbone, and can be used to replace one or more missing teeth. These dentures allow patients to maintain their facial structure, and talk and eat properly.
Root Canals
A root canal is a procedure where your dentist removes diseased blood vessels, nerves and tissues from the inside of a tooth. By removing decay and bacteria, your dentist can help stop the spread of infection and prevent the tooth from getting worse which could lead to tooth loss.
TMJ Disorder Treatment
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jaw to the temporal bones of your skull. Disorders caused by genetics, arthritis, jaw disease, and other factors can cause this joint to become painful. At Cranbrook Family Dental, our dentists can test for and provide a treatment plan for TMJ Disorder.
Same-Day Restorations
Using CEREC® technology, our dentists can create and place porcelain crowns, in a single dental appointment to help restore your smile. No impressions, no temporaries – just tooth-coloured, metal-free restorations in one visit.
